openoox.com, as presented here, is an editorial and educational archive—not a revival of the commercial Openoox service described in 2014–2016 press coverage.

Purpose

The site documents how Openoox fit into the longer story of personalized homepages, visual bookmarking, social link sharing, and cloud-synchronized navigation—using verifiable sources and clear uncertainty where facts run out.

What this site is not

• Not affiliated with Julien Danjon, Denys Chalumeau, Lorenzo Nuccio, or former Openoox corporate entities unless explicitly stated in a primary document.
• Not a functioning SaaS product—there is no account system, pricing, dashboard, or customer support.
• Not a pixel-perfect copy of historical Openoox marketing sites or trademarks.

Methodology

1. Collect contemporaneous reporting and founder interviews (2014–2016).
2. Cross-check product claims against multiple outlets; downgrade unverified features.
3. Separate historical plans (CES launch, monetization ideas) from confirmed outcomes.
4. Label discontinuation using tier-4/5 sources only when tier-1 live product evidence is unavailable.

Visual design

Layout uses a restrained editorial system: IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono, self-hosted under assets/fonts/. No third-party analytics or font CDNs are loaded by default.

Accessibility & performance

• Skip link, focus-visible styles, reduced-motion support, and semantic landmarks.
• Color contrast targets WCAG AA for body text on paper backgrounds.
• Static assets suitable for Apache caching and Cloudflare CDN.

Deployment (Apache + Cloudflare)

1. Upload the entire project to the web root (index.html, .htaccess, assets/, section folders, robots.txt, sitemap.xml).
2. Enable Apache modules: mod_rewrite, mod_headers, mod_deflate, mod_expires (optional but recommended).
3. Allow .htaccess overrides (AllowOverride All for this vhost).
4. Cloudflare: DNS proxied (orange cloud), SSL/TLS mode Full (strict) if you have an origin certificate, otherwise Full; enable Always Use HTTPS; consider Automatic HTTPS Rewrites.
5. All CSS, JS, fonts, and images load from /assets/ on this domain—no third-party font or analytics CDNs.
6. Public URLs use trailing slashes (/history/, not /history/index.html). Canonical tags on every page point to https://openoox.com/….
